Faethon Skyrace

The Faethon Skyrace is a demanding mountain running race held on the mythical Olympus, in the Kokkino Pilos area. The 24-kilometer route with a +1800 meter elevation gain offers a unique experience through trails, alpine terrain, and peaks over 2000 meters. The race starts from the central square of the village and has a time limit of 6 hours, with intermediate refreshment stations. The event is aimed at experienced athletes with good physical condition and mountain race experience.

The race has a participation limit of 300 athletes. No medical certificate is required, but a responsible declaration must be signed. There is a 6-hour finish time limit with an intermediate station at Diaselo Kardaρα at 14 km (2340m altitude). Free shuttle bus service from Thessaloniki is provided for athletes. Organized with races of 23km, 14km, and 1km for children, with registrations via bank transfer and participation in a high-difficulty and naturally beautiful race. The start and finish are located in a historic area rich in natural and cultural heritage.
