ROC 50 Miles

The Rodopi Challenge 50 Miles (ROC) is an introductory mountain ultra trail race of 89 kilometers with a positive elevation gain of 4,800 meters, organized every spring in the Rodopi mountain range by the non-profit organization Rodopi Ultra Trail AMKE. The route is loop-shaped, starting and ending at the Erymanthos Forest Village, crossing villages, ancient forests, and mountain trails. The race is aimed at experienced athletes wishing to get acquainted with the spirit of ultra trail races, offering a demanding and unique mountain running experience. The start is early in the morning, and participants have a time limit of 19.5 hours to complete the race.

Maximum number of participants is 300 athletes. The race closes at 00:30 on the same day, providing a time limit of 19.5 hours. A mandatory participation criterion is the completion or abandonment of at least a 40 km mountain running race after 1/1/2024. The route is part of the ROUT Classic 100 miles and is loop-shaped. The race includes routes on natural trails and offers accommodation options in campsites and hotels, mainly accessible by road and rail. There are also family events and other shorter-distance routes.
