Lake Plastiras Trail

The Lake Plastiras Trail is a festive mountain running race held in the beautiful area of Lake Plastiras in Karditsa, Greece. The race routes cross the historic mountain massif of the Agrafa mountains, offering unique natural landscapes, a variety of terrains, and significant elevation changes. The start is from the Botanical Garden of the Municipality of Lake Plastiras, next to the lake, and participants have the opportunity to enjoy routes that combine trails, dirt roads, and asphalt. The race promotes sports, entertainment, and the highlighting of nature and the local history of the area.

The races include five routes: 42 km (+2400m elevation gain) starting at 08:00, 23 km (+1150m elevation gain) starting at 10:00, 10 km (+100m elevation gain) starting at 11:00, 5 km (+100m elevation gain) on Saturday 18/4 at 18:00, and a children's race of 600m at 11:10. There are hydration and feeding stations. The 23 km route includes technical descent and the highest point at 1808m. The 5 km route is circular and suitable for beginners. The organization promotes health, entertainment, and the highlighting of nature and local history. The event features routes with technical difficulties, participants from Greece and abroad, and safety and health programs. There are also activities and accommodation options in the area.
